About

The Restaurant Mom is the industry’s leading expert when it comes to dining out with kids. As a former restaurant employee herself, The Restaurant Mom knows what it’s like to be on both sides of the table: the server and the parent with kids.

Before she became a mom, The Restaurant Mom started her career in 1989 in the restaurant and hospitality industries working from a cashier in food & beverage in the Magic Kingdom to server at several restaurants including Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and a mom-and-pop pizza joint to new store opening teams, manager, corporate sales, and consumer research at companies like Holiday Inn and Darden Restaurants.

After a not-so-pleasant restaurant experience in 2007, she was inspired to find restaurants that actually wanted her business. For many months she spent every day and night trying to find restaurants that were kid or family-friendly before she realized one did not exist. So she turned her passion in research into the hunt of the definition of a kid-friendly restaurant; to identify what’s important to parents when they take their kids out to eat and further how that correlates into a restaurant’s business to then turn that into a list of kid-friendly restaurants. Since then she has been conducting research and countless interviews to identify parents’ hot buttons. She uses her expertise and knowledge to educate restaurants on how to do a better job serving families and how to realize an increase in profits through repeat visits and higher check averages with this segment. The restaurants she has found or have been nominated by parents are compiled into one comprehensive online list known as MyKidsPlate.com.

Wondering how The Restaurant Mom can positively impact your revenues with the family market segment? She uses several methods to hone in on strategies appropriate to your brand and your marketing plan. Through guest interviews, online research, and in-restaurant shadowing, The Restaurant Mom melds her background into strategies that are operationally implementable and positively impactful to the bottom line.
